HCV Elimination in PWIDs and the Incarcerated - Updated 12/5/19
Certified CME/CNE/CPE Activity - Lecture Library Slide Set
The Simply Speaking Hepatitis lecture series includes a curriculum that highlights the very latest clinical data utilizing a library of PowerPoint slide presentations developed and approved by key expert physicians and further reviewed and approved by the Planning Committee.

Recent advances in HCV treatment offer an unprecedented opportunity to eliminate HCV. Scaling up HCV treatment in persons who inject drugs (PWIDs) is necessary to positively impact the HCV epidemic in the US and globally. In addition, to eliminate HCV, there is a need to engage the criminal justice system by increasing routine screening and improving access to direct-acting antiviral agents to persons who are imprisoned. These slides will address important issues for PWIDs and the incarcerated with HCV, including epidemiologic trends, prevention strategies, and AASLD recommendations for contemporary HCV management approaches/challenges and harm reduction approaches.

Updated information is noted on the slide in the upper right-hand corner. Please note that participants who have previously claimed credit for this activity should not claim duplicate credit based on the updates.
Review the slides by selecting the View Slide Kit button on the right. Claim 1 AMA, ANCC, or ACPE credit/contact hour per slide kit after completion of a brief posttest/evaluation.
