Best Practices for HCV Infection Before and After the Cure - Updated 11/23/20
Activity Summary:
The Simply Speaking Hepatitis lecture series includes a curriculum that highlights the very latest clinical data utilizing a library of PowerPoint slide presentations developed and approved by key expert physicians and further reviewed and approved by the Planning Committee.
Achieving a sustained virologic response (SVR) is expected to benefit nearly all persons with chronic HCV infection. Despite the recommendation for treatment of nearly all patients with HCV infection, it remains critical for clinicians to understand patient- and disease-related factors that place individuals at risk for HCV-related complications as well as for HCV transmission. It is important that clinicians recognize the unique dimensions of HCV disease and its natural history in these populations when considering HCV regimen options. These slides will use a case-based format to review the contemporary management of HCV infection before and after the cure in treatment-naïve and experienced patients with various comorbidities.
Updated information is noted on the slide in the upper right hand corner. Please note that participants who have previously claimed credit for this activity should not claim duplicate credit based on the updates.
